Hans Frederik

As I began my research on other websites, I mainly searched Hans hoping to find information on the entire family. However, that was not the case. It was very interesting spending time searching and searching and not being able to find anything. The FamilySearch information gave me some information, but not enough. I called my mom asking her to look for any information she had. She was great and sent me so many things! She was extremely helpful and had a lot of information on Hans. I had no idea he died by getting run over by a train! Here is a couple of the newspaper cutouts talking about his death.

Now, I should probably talk about his life. He was born in Aahurs, Denmark to Niels and Ane Marie Hansen. He was the first child of twelve. In 1876, Niels sent Ane Marie, Hans and their youngest Joseph to America. They traveled to Utah, where they stayed in Brigham City for many many years. Eventually Niels was able to meet up with Ane Marie.

Hans met Charlotte in Brigham City. She had stolen a watermelon from a wagon load he was peddling. They were married on August 28, 1895, in Logan, Utah. I believe they were sealed in the Logan, Utah temple. Here is a page from a book my mother found. It gives a brief description on Hans and Charlotte and a little bit on Annetta.

I don't know if you are able to read it but it says that Hans was remembered for his warm personality. He was a wanderer and loved the adventure of new change. It says he always thought the pasture was greener somewhere else. He ended up being a farmer and sheepherder.
